Was up early this morning to try and complete some projects I was working on. I wanted to try to finish setting up my garden. Which is going to be my attempt to offset the high cost of veggies nowadays. So i headed uptown to buys some tomato plants to get started. On the way home I stopped into the dollar general store to pick up a couple of things. Found what I needed and got in line to check out. Now of course it never fails whenever I get in line I always end up behind the person who stands there trading their life-history with the person working there as though they were long lost relatives or something. So after patiently standing there during all this, I get my turn. She rings it up and tells me that will be $8.60, so I reach for my wallet for my handy-dandy convenient debit card. Now with the look on the girl's face you would have thought I just pulled a gun on her. And then she says " I'm sorry sir we don't take credit cards, we only accept cash or check." Niether of these I had on me at the time. You know the least they could do is post a sign saying, " please don't stand in line waiting, while we shoot the shit with each other, holding you up, if you plan on using a debit card." Oh well one of these days these stores will all figure out how to move into the modern era. I did finally make it back home 30 minutes later then I had planned and got my plants into the ground.

It's been hot and humid today and as is normally the case when this happens we have been put under a tornado watch. There have been so many of these watches issued that I never pay any attention to them at all. I mean there aren't even any thunderstorms in the area, and the last time I checked I thought you needed one in order to have the other. And another thing why issue a tornado watch when there's no tornado to go out and watch.

I used to think it would be cool to be a storm chaser and drive around looking for tornados. But then I got to thinking what would I do if one of those things ever let me catch it.

I rest my case.

Well after a lot of cold medicine and some sleep I feel somewhat better today, though not completly over this. So leave it to me, in my infinate wisdom I decided to go out and try and sweat the rest of this shit out of me. And let me tell ya theres nothing better then this on a warm humid day to work up a sweat. This damned garden better turn out. If you'll excuse me now I have to go stand in the shower for an hour.

I could feel it this morning right after i woke up, I hoped I was wrong but as this day has wore on i could tell I wasn't wrong. Anyhow some damned germ or something has invaded my body. Probably just a cold I don't know. All I know for sure is as this day has gone on I could feel myself becoming kinda weak and listless not wanting to do anything, now the congestion and the headache... the kind where it's a chore to even hold your head up. Urrrg.....I need asprin, tylenol, cold medicine awww hell just give me the whole effing drugstore.
Gawd I hate being sick.

So right now I'm sitting here with egg on my face.......well somewhat. I should have known that as soon as I go and brag on a team they would go and lose. No wait what the Royals did yesterday could not be called losing a game. When you take a 9-4 lead into the last inning and give up 6 runs that's not losing the game, that's giving the game away. Well I guess we can't say the Kansas City Royals aren't generous. Oh well they still have had a good start to the season thus far, especially compared to the last few years. Only time will tell how the rest of the season will go.

I was still up at two this morning doing some writing, and actually wrote one of the better pieces I have written to date. Unfortunately blogger must have been hungry last night, for as soon as I hit the post button it ate my entire effing post. It will be a shame if we have to start saving everything to our hard drive before we try to post it. I may try and recreate that post a little later on.

Right now I'm just sitting here listening to the Kansas City Royals baseball game. The Royals are winning 7-1 in the 3rd inning. WTF is it with this team, not that I'm complaining, but the Royals were just about the worst team in baseball just last year. All I have to say is to whoever kidnapped the real Royals players and replaced them with real baseball players.....please don't switch them back.

Want to also say thank you to Raymi for linking me. And welcome to those of you coming over and checking out my humble little blog. Hit up my guestbook or leave a shout out and let me know you were here and what you think of my site here. That's it for now.

I'm sitting here eating grilled cheese sandwiches, a CD in and the NFL draft on the tube. Nice combination huh. I must say things seem a little better today at least the sun is shining again. Just as I thought sleep didn't come easily last night, so I stayed up surfing the web, trying to write and a few other things. None of which I really saw through to completion. Ahh well shit happens, right. Oh and that state of exhaustion did finally hit me about 3 this morning and I lapsed into sleep want to or not.

While I was surfing around checking out other sites/blogs I came across one that really struck me. I have seen it all now I think...blogging from the beyond. This one appears to have just started and will be interesting to see how it plays out. You see it's supposedly being written by someone who is de.....
go to Lovely Bones and you'll see what I'm talking about.

Ok I've got some laundry waiting to be done. That's it for now.

It's been one of those days. I've started out to do a post several times only to back off. Every-time I would start my brain would seem as empty as these chairs.

I don't know maybe it's been the cloudy skies and lack of sunshine. Well maybe a good nights sleep is what I need, the only problem is when I get like this sleep is always the last thing I want to do. I try to keep on going starting this and moving to that and on to something else. I want to do something and yet don't want to do anything, all at the same time. So yes sleep is what I should be doing, but when I close my eyes I'm so restless it seems as though the world is closing in around me and sleep won't come. So I can either lay there and toss and turn or get back up and work on a million things at once, never finishing one before moving on to the next. Oh well I will probably end up doing what I usually do and keep going till exhaustion sweeps over me and I can't help but eventually fall asleep. I hate feeling like this, it's almost like a feeling of weakness. But I have to remind myself i'm human and allow myself to be human, and that these kind of days will happen and will usually pass as fast as they come upon me. As a matter of fact I must admit I feel a little better just having written this down. Kind of like opening up and saying yeah I have fucked up days instead of sucking it in and hiding it like I would normally do. Ok with that said it's time to move on there's still those million things I need to get started on and not finish. And I know there's always tomorrow, and tomorrow is what i make it. And I am going to do my best to make it a damned good day. I hope.

It's been a dreary gloomy day today. With the sky full of gray clouds and rain falling off and on most of the day. Couldn't get outside to do anything so I stayed in and got some laundry and other things done that needed doing. The last little while I've been sitting here thinking about where I'd rather be then here. The following is where I'd like to be with a few special friends.

Yes a nice isolated tropical island,

with white sand and blue water,

and beautiful sunsets.

I know, I know, but it doesn't hurt to dream does it. Anyone want to join me?

Ok so I just got back from the grocery store, looking like a drowned rat I might add. So yeah my plan to beat the heavy part of the rain didn't work. A strange thing happened though while I was away at the store. When I got back I pulled up my site to check and see if there were any shout outs. There weren't any, I must say it's a rare occasion when there are. So for the hell of I pulled up my site counter and to my surprise I had gotten about 12 hits since I had been at the store. Which is about 10 or so more hits over the modest average of 2-3 I usually get. So I did some checking around and discovered the source to the sudden increase of hits. Turns out that Tony Pierce has linked my humble blog. Tony's site is among the very best in the world of blogs, and if you don't already have it on your daily reads list as I do, I suggest you check his site out. Therefore I send out a big thanks to Tony for the link, which I might add was not necessary but very greatly appreciated.

I'm sitting here looking out my window watching the rain move in. The way they are talking it's supposed to rain for the next couple of days. It's a good thing I got out to get some more yard work done earlier this morning. I don't mind it raining, after all we need it. Only thing is I have to run to the grocery store in a bit and that means dodging raindrops. Maybe if I go now I can beat the heaviest of the rain. Yes that's what I'll do. That's it for now.

So as I said in my last post it rained, and with the rain that means that the weeds masqueradeing as my lawn have sprouted up and needed to be mowed. So this morning thats where I was, trudging along behind the lawn mower. I did manage to get it done, although I made another discovery in the process. Judging by my shortness of breath and tired feeling I am not in as good of shape as I should be. Thus I have decided I need to get a little more excerise. But this afternoon it's all about relaxing and taking it easy. That's it for now.

A couple of pictures from the trip I took a while back, that I just got ready to post.

Ok, I'm back. I've been away for awhile to make myself available to help some friends/family. Unfortunately I was unable to help. It's a very hard thing to deal with sometimes, wanting to be able to help and yet knowing there is nothing you can do at the time to be of help. I guess it is of some comfort knowing that I was available and willing to help.......yet.

One good thing did happen recently, are you ready, it rained. Yes we finally got some decent rainfall here. Now maybe we won't become the newest desert region of the country.

Have you seen this man. If so let me know, the way he can spin a tale I figure he'd be good to hire as a publicist.

We've been getting a touch of summer here the last few days, with the temps hitting near the 90 degree mark. And with the better weather comes the yard work, and yes I was actually out pushing the lawn mower around cutting the grass.

Today was also a strange day for keeping things running in the house. First the cable went out for a while and shortly after it came on something caused a power outage and there went the electricity for a while. Oh well it was just one of those days.

It was the masters golf tournament this weekend and guess what the great Tiger Woods didn't win for a change. Instead something new happened and that is Mike Wier became the first Canadian to win the Masters and take the coveted green jacket back to Canada.

It was a typical sunday not much happening in this small little town here. So I just hung around the house and watched a little TV. Then this evening I actually went for a walk. I figured what the hell nothing else to do and it was such a nice mid-western evening. So I set off for a walk. It was a nice out for a walk, warm, I looked up into the clear night sky and saw that ocean of stars spreading out as far as I could see, the moon was so bright it was almost as if a faint hint of daylight was guiding me along my way. So I walked along thinking about this and that, yet thinking about nothing at all. Kind of like a let's clear the mind and get ready to start a new week. That's it for now.

Yes 8 and 0 the best start in baseball in a long time, maybe even ever. And who is it, believe it or not it's the Kansas City Royals. What makes this so amazing and something to jump and cheer about is this is the same team that lost over 100 games just last year. Many years ago this start wouldn't have surprised me, but lately the Royals have been working hard at becoming the laughing stock of Major league baseball. Those of us in this area are pleased, however skeptically so. Only time will tell if this is truly the turn around this team has been searching for. After all the season is just starting.........TIME WILL TELL!!!!

Stayed up a little late last night working on sort of an artistic photo project. So go here FUNKY MOON ART or click on the picture to see what I did with a few photos I took of the moon and the night sky. It's really not that much, actually it's nothing more then what any armature( hey that's me) couldn't do with a simple photo editing program. But I'm happy with it. I also added another posting to my CREATIVENESS.....or NOT page.

Ok so its turning out to be doctors appointment week for my mom, only this time today's appointment was with a neurologist whose office is in another town some sixty miles aways or so. I really can't help but wonder why it is she has these appointments once every four months. I mean it seems pointless to me to have to drive up there all the time just to have a doctor tell her, yes you have a degenerative condition, and yes there is still nothing we can do about it. Oh and yeah, come back in four months so we can tell you the same thing all over again.

Driving down the interstate today heading to said appointment I happened to notice it was like driving thru a haze almost like being in fog, though I knew it wasn't supposed to be foggy today. So could it be, all the signs were there, the hazy sky, the faint smell of smoke in the air. Yes, yes that annual rite of spring, it is fire season here. The time of the year where in order to turn everything green again you must first turn it black. Thus all the fields are now being burnt off. The simply amazing thing is.......it works. Usually after about a week or two after the fields have been scorched they are green and full of life again. Hummm maybe I should try that.......naw green's not really my color. That's it for now.

Ended up staying up a little later then I intended to last night. Got started downloading some new music and started to burn CD's and lost track of the time.

Today I had to take my mom to an appointment since she no longer drives and has trouble getting around. And on the way home I stopped in to pay the cable bill. The hell with the tv I didn't want them cutting off my internet. Oh I did get to take some more pictures while waiting for her appointment to end. Other then that not much else happening here.

It's still cloudy and cold here, is Spring ever going to actually get here. Here we are closing in on mid April and my god there is a freeze warning. Yes a freeze warning.

Yesterday got a call from my aunt who lives in town here, seems they had bought a new all in one printer, scanner, copier and it would not work. Would I please come over and see if I can figure out why it's not working. I don't know why but everyone thinks I'm loaded with computer knowledge. Hehe got them fooled don't I. Well anyhow I headed over to their house ready to create the ultimate fix right. Actually what's running through my mind is what the hell do I really know about this. OH well I'll give it a try. So I get there and sure enough it's not working. Anyhow long story short after 45 minutes of un-installing and reinstalling this software and that, and tracing and making sure that all the cables were hooked up properly. We finally found the problem, and quite by accident I might add. Not sure why but I brought up the printer dialog window and it seems they still had their old printer selected as the default printer. Huh go figure. Well the afternoon was not a total waste I did manage to make a couple of sales while I was there. That's it for now.

Yes the leaves are popping out on the bushes and trees, the flowers coming up. Sure sign spring is here right, well I thought so to. Even the weather had been spring like with temperatures up near 80 degrees. That is till this morning when I got up and it is 35 degrees out and showing no signs of going up all that much more. So it appears as though spring is on hold again, at least for a few more days. These are the type of days that make it hard to get motivated to do much of anything, so I think I will just stay inside and figure out something to do. I shall get started on that now.

If you look closely at the picture you will see that instead of a normal tire there's now one of those donut spares on the car. Does that give any clue as to how my day started. Yep, hopped into the car to head uptown to do some things when I notice the car moving funny as I backed out. Not knowing what was up yet I pulled back into the driveway looked and sure enough .......a flat tire. So I opened the trunk and got the jack out and got the flat off the car. Then reaching back into the trunk all the while hoping the spare would be in good condition, it felt ok when I pulled it out. But imagine my dismay when I let the car down and and the spare looked almost as flat as the tire I took off. Luckily it wasn't completely flat and I was able to slowly drive to the gas station to air it up. Sure hope the rest of the day is better. That's it for now.

Sometimes this blogging thing is not really that easy for me. There are times when I just can't think of what to write. One time while chatting with Anti I mentioned the fact I was having trouble figuring out what to write about. And his answer to me came at me in such a way as to leap off the screen, shake me and say wake up fool. What he said was simply no you're not, just write whats on your mind.....now do it. Coming from someone with his talent for writing this advice has helped me. If there is one thing I have learned visiting different blog sites, is that this blogging thing is an individual thing where each has their own particular style. Some may be similar but each are of their own. There are three sites that I use as an inspiration for doing this. Now I know I will never be as exciting and popular as Raymi, nor as imaginative as Anti, or even as eloquent as Jamie, however I know that I don't need to be. I just need to be myself, and soon enough a style of my own may form. Still my hat's off and many many thanks to these three for being a big inspiration to me.
Later

P.S. To read a review I wrote on each of these three sites go here.

If you checked out my site between 10:30 and 12:00 today then you got to see my post where I took a stab at some creative writing. However after rereading it I decided to pull it down because I didn't want people to think it reflected my state of mind or had any hidden meaning. I didn't delete it, it's saved, and maybe I will post it again at a latter date.

It's another nice day out, although it's very windy. But it's that strong south wind that is bringing in this warm air, so I'll tolerate it. Spent a lot of the morning out in the yard again trying to figure out what I am going to do with it. And ya never know might end up back out there again, that is, if I don't decide to take a nap. That's it for now.

Slept in this morning, didn't get up till like 8'oclock. Well I guess it wasn't really sleeping in since I didn't go to bed till 3 this morning. And don't ask me why I was up that late I don't really know. Wish I could say it was because I was out partying, but sadly no. After dragging myself out of bed and into the shower I decided to take a drive out to the rock quarry where I used to work. Wanted to show a few catalogs off in hopes of getting a few orders.

So I got into the car and pointed it down the highway for that 12 mile trip to my old place of employment. I didn't even get a mile out of town when there it was, on the side of the road, that one sign most drivers dread. Yep road work ahead.

And of course it has to be the type of work that cut the road down to one lane. So there I sat waiting for probably 10 minutes or so waiting on this silly pilot car (truck as you can see in the pic, though they called it a car..go figure). Had to follow this pilot car for about 5 miles till we finally got out of the work zone.

Finally got out into the country where the quarry is located. Went in and visited a little with the people in the office. They were busy so I didn't stay long, but long enough that I believe I garnered a few orders out of the deal. So not a wasted trip after all. Headed back to town, remembering the road work ahead of me I figured I'd try and find an alternate and better way to go.

Ok, so as you can see I found an alternate route still not so sure on the better part though. And yes we do still have dirt roads here. But at least I didn't have to wade my way through the road work. Also on the drive back spotted this neat looking old barn and wanted to get a picture of it. So I stopped, got out and started back to get a better angle when this big ass farm dog with the I'm hungry look in his eyes spotted me. Well it didn't take me long to decide maybe I didn't want this picture after all. Who am I kidding, it didn't take long before the fucking race was on. Didn't know I could still move that fast, all the while thinking I hope my hand eye coordination is good enough to get the car door open and I can get in before this beast could tear my leg off. Well I'm happy to say it was and I finished the drive home. Wherein I relaxed a little, ate some lunch and went out and started some yard work.

With this story told....that's it for now.
